Celebrate Fall Leaves

Hi friends! I hope you're enjoying your day. The weather is a little cooler here - no more 90's this week.. and I'm getting out in the morning for a walk again. I'm not going far.. just enough to stretch Moriko's legs - she's got a bad knee and I'm not supposed to walk her at all, but she is so hard to say no to. DH has been working late a lot so I'm keeping busy - glad I have my pup to keep me company.

Today I'm playing along with The Card Concept. I haven't played there in a while.. and I am overdue. I love their inspiration photos - they're always GORGEOUS! These pretty fall leaves are no exception. We all have a leaf stamp or die so this one is easy to play along with.  The hardest part to define is my style.  I want to say clean and layered.. but no white space here. 

I used the Waffle Flower Two Step Leaves. I love them! They're really simple.. just a solid background stamp and then a second stamp of the leaf veins. Their shapes are especially nice - I love the variety that makes them interesting when mixed together.

My background is a simple soft Distress Ink in Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade. Next I added a Cute Leaf Stencil in slightly darker shades.. Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin and Worn Lipstick.

I topped the panel with three nested Hexagon Frames and then added the leaves. Some are attached with adhesive foam tape and others are adhered flat to the background to add some depth and dimension.

This photo really shows the raised images well. The pretty script sentiment is from the Essential Celebrations stamp set with coordinating dies. I like that you can stamp them on a one layer card or die cut their curvy shapes quick and easy with the matching dies.

I love the crunching sound of leaves and acorns under my feet when I walk - its a reminder to look up, look down, and take it all in because the world still holds so much beauty to enjoy.
