Ombre Fall Leaves

I hope you're having a great weekend! The weather is fine here so I'm spending some time outside! I love a sketch challenge and lately Freshly Made Sketches is my favorite. I can't resist coming back for more! Here's the sketch they have for us this time! 

Pretty straight forward right? Here's what I made...

I started by creating the smaller panel of stripes with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch. These were painted like waves on watercolor paper. I splattered the stripes with some of the extra Blueprint Sketch. The background panel is the same colors applied with a dauber on regular card stock. 

The Pretty Pink Posh Small Stitched Foliage dies were cut from watercolor paper that was painted with distress ink.

Raspberry Jewels mimic berries mixed in with the foliage. I used the foliage to replace the vertical stripe on the drawing. The "thanks" sentiment was cut from the Thanks Leaf Shaker die.
