Can you believe it's November already? I'm just letting go of Summer and I know Winter is just around the corner. Today I'm going to bask in the NOW! and Enjoy FALL!! LOL! I'm playing at the Dies R Us Challenge - this time the theme is Fall! I took a walk with Miss Moriko and can't tell you how many little squirrels I saw running about! I thought it would be neat to add them to this Exquisite Branch Frame background die from Poppystamps.
I cut the frame and the Frisky Squirrels die in black. I thought it would be neat to add some colors like a stained glass panel so I chose dark and light shades of blues and yellows. I secured the cut pieces in place on the reverse side with washi tape and then adhered the panel to an orange card stock panel.
I adhered the panel with adhesive foam tape - you can see the dimension in this photo.
The sentiment is from the Falling for You stamp set. I stamped it on a Classic Ribbon Die. All that was left was to glue the little squirrels in the appropriate places.
Finished Size: 4.25 x 5.5"

Jeanne it's a masterpiece! When I saw the branch frame die for the first time I was also thinking of a stain glass effect (believe it or not) but nothing like this one! It's a totally wonderful creation - love the dimension, colors and layers!
ReplyDeleteOh how COOL is this, love how you raised some of the pieces, it gives a wonderful dimension to the card!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card...I can just imagine all those sweet little critters running on the tree branches.
ReplyDeleteWow is this ever fabulous!! Love the squirrel/tree silhouette and the bright happy colors!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful design! Love the stained glass look! This is such a wonderful use for the branch die and I love those sweet squirrels.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jeanne!!! The die cutting and blocks of color on this is absolutely fabulous! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card with the bright colours interspersed with the black outlines...and the cute little squirrels. We don't see many squirrels here in town, but we have bunnies...not hares, but bunnies. They're wild but incredibly cute. I'm sure your Moriko would enjoy seeing - and chasing - them!
