SSCB #3 - Have A Care

Have you heard Serendipity Stamps has started a challenge blog?  Yes!  Now you can play along with our twice monthly challenges!  The theme this time is Have a Care.  Serendipity allows you to choose one of their stamps for awareness  featuring a variety of causes, including recycle, breast cancer awareness, adoption among others, at no charge with your purchase.  If you don't have one of these stamps the challenge site will be offering a free digital version of the one I am using today.
I come from a family of book readers so I chose Recycle / Reuse along with a pretty vintage book stamp to highlight my cause.   My family is always passing books back and forth to each other.  I've given away all my children's books that they've outgrown to a local school and hospital for others to enjoy.  When I'm on vacation I usually leave my book behind hoping someone else will pick it up.  If you have books to donate there are lots of organizations that would be happy to share them with others including your local library and www.books4cause.com.
I tried make my card look like a book too.  There are leather corners, a ribbon / book mark, and the title in a pretty frame on the cover!
Hop on over to the rest of the design team member blogs to see their "have a care" cards.

And if you have some crafty time I hope you will stop over at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge blog and play along this time.  Don't forget there is a free digi stamp this week and you have to play for your chance to win $20 off your next Serendipity Stamps purchase!

  1. Love this card, Jeanne. We are all big readers, and I just love that book stamp, too. It's definitely going on my wish list. How fun to discover a new stamp I want! Have you ever tried paperbackswap.com? I love that site.

  4. This is a really good idea for the recycle stamp Jeanne! I love how you tried to recreate a vintage book look to the card with all those cute touches...the leather corners and the paper you stamped the books on was perfect! Wish I had time to pull out a good book today!
