Can you believe it's Saturday already? It's been a busy week for me! My hand cramps are recovered from all the zig zag rosettes I made earlier in the week for the Cross Country Senior Night, and so now its time to play!! My son has another meet this weekend and he is doing great. His last 5k he ran in 17:21 !!! I hope he he does well this weekend too - if he makes Varsity I told him I'd buy him another Letterman's jacket since he is at a new school now.
The sketch this week is by the house mouse/mistress herself....... Ms. Claire Brennan! This sketch is a great way to show case your favorite Waltzingmouse Stamp! I just had to ink up the new Bright Season set. I had fun trying different things like distressed backgrounds, but settled on this clean image stamped on white. I just loved how my eye kept going back to the clean colors of the flame. I stamped the flame and rays of light in three different colors and they seem to just pop against the black lantern.
The little tab seems like an obvious place for a sentiment but I actually put a pull tab there instead. I stamped and cut it with the new opera tags on kraft, added a leopard print gem and attached it to a little pull tab with a brad. I think this would be a neat way to insert a little gift card using the "for you" sentiment on the little tab. Here's the finished card
Thanks for having a look. Make sure you check out the inspiration provided by the other Mischief Makers and perhaps Mrs. B. herself!

ReplyDeleteYou picked the perfect stamps for this weeks sketch. Who knew it would make such a beautiful Halloween card! You! Love the little tag with the bling, the dies and the cob web twine,(that's what I see)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad the new school is going well for your son. Hope he does well Saturday!
Wow! This is fabulous!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteJeanne this is amazing, those lantern images are now going to HAVE to go onto my wish list. I love the way the there is a hidden sentiment - it really is a beautiful Halloween card!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely STUNNING!! I just love the cobweb doily and the sweet tag hidden behind the lantern image. FANTASTIC!!
ReplyDeleteJeanne, that lantern is awesome!! And I love that the sentiment pulls out from behind...so clever!
ReplyDeleteOh SO awesome, Jeanne! And that little mystery sentiment tab is brilliant! I just love this lantern image for Halloween! Who can resit it with the spider webby doily and candy corn medallion paper?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to put the sentiment on a little pull-tab! I am so happy to see you got some new stamps and made your lamp a Halloween card. That leopard print gem is so unique. I am wishing good luck to your son...I bet he is dying for a new letterman's jacket! Are they as expensive in your area as they were here in CA? The jacket wasn't so bad, but having all the emblems sewed on was so much money! My old sewing machine was not sturdy enough to do it, so I had to pay every time they won something and it had to be sewed on!
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous Halloween card! Love how the sentiment pulls out! Super lovely cobweb doily and awesome ribbon treatment, too!
ReplyDeleteWow, just wow! I'm pretty blown away by the card itself, but that little tag with a pull out tab!!! I love it so much! That little opera tag is perfect!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son too!
Eeeks...love those rays!!! Too clever with the pull out sentiment using that fabulous tag!!! Fantastic!!! Glad to hear things are going good with your son!!!

ReplyDeleteStunning, Jeanne. Can't wait to get my hand on the stamp set. The pull out tab idea... GENIUS! Still not done gawking at your card!
ReplyDeleteWow, adore the papers and your fabulous lantern! That die with the silver twine really creates a cobwebby (not sure if there is such a word) look! But my favorite part is the pull tab. Love the Opera Tag with the leopard gem!
