In May of this year, I decided to feature a card using the Serendipity Stamps large oval month on the first of every month until I work my way through the entire set of twelve. At the end in April of 2013 I will give away the set of hand made cards to one random commenter.
I love how each month is highlighted with little images circling each month to draw attention to why it is so special. For example, June has a beautiful bounty of flowers. July has a flag, watermelon and fireworks, October has a cornucopia of fall's bounty, and December cookies and evergreen.
This would be a great set for a home crafted calendar or a birthday card for a friend who celebrates theirs in that particular month. I would dress it up with a pretty monogram and perhaps their date of birth.
For June I wanted to capture the abundance of flowers you can expect from a beautiful summer day. As a nod to the weddings in June I threw in a spray of pearls and a fancy vintage cream doily. I sprinkled the flowers with gems and colored in the images with Copic markers. Here are a few close ups:
Thanks for having a look - I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Jeanne, I love the colors you used on this card and how every element blends together so well. It can't help but put a smile on your face and I'm in love with the calendar stamps. Sure hope I win all 12 cards at the end of the year!!! :-) Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThese colors sure scream June to me! Stunning card Jeanne! I love all the beautiful flowers you added to June beauty. I love the red die you placed the stamped image on, so fancy. How fun would that be to win all 12, I don't think I could part with them if I made them. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteUhhh, WOW! My eyeballs were huge while staring down your gorgeous creation here. I love the large printed months, but they are even better with your flair for accenting. Wonderful work here Jeanne :)
