Several times of year my mind starts turns to wanderlust and the pull to travel is hard to resist. It usually hits me in the Summer, when the kids are out of school, or perhaps when Winter just seems to be lasting too long! Sometimes it’s a call to see the mountains, smell the salty ocean air, or a need for a change of scenery.The latest collection from Layle by Mail called Far and Wide is just the ticket! Whether you're jet setting to another country, hitting the road, or just spending a weekend in the city this paper collection has you covered. The paper pack includes 12 double sided papers with lots of different prints including dots, stripes, maps, and script, as well as prints of luggage, stamps and travel signs. And Layle has pulled out all the stops on this collection because there are so many different embellishments for layering and personalizing your adventures. I used Die Cut Icons that include mostly images (luggage, signs, cars, taxi's etc.), Die Cut Words & Phrases, and Die Cut Titles, as well as Wordstrip Stickers and Washi on my designs. I like to use 3x4 journaling cards to create focal points for my designs. The paper pack has an entire sheet to choose from. Several have sentiments and images that you can incorporate into your designs.
I like to pair the images and sentiments to coordinate with the theme of the design. As an example I chose to use the interstate signs, travel guide and automobile to create this road trip themed card.For this card I turned a journaling card on its sided so the airplanes printed on it seem to be flying across the card. Here's all four cards I'm sharing today together so you can see the variety of designs you can create.
I plan to use these cards to remind my friends and family to never stop exploring and to experience everything this great big beautiful world has to offer.
