Pretty Pink Posh 8th Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!

Oh happy day!  It's a great day for a celebration because Pretty Pink Posh is turning EIGHT years old!  There's lots of new to share and prizes for EVERYONE - make sure you scroll down to see the giveaways! My first card features the new BUILD A CUPCAKE stamp set and coordinating dies. This set is FUN and FABULOUS because you can do exactly as the name states.. build your own cupcake! There are different cupcake liners, frosting and toppings!

This set even has a beautiful script sentiment and two smaller print font sentiments. I adore the little cherry, star and candle - the set has a heart and sprinkles too!

The background is blended Distress Oxide in pastel shades that remind me of sherbet! YUM! I added some gold sprinkles because a little bling is always welcome!

My second card features the new BUILD A GIFT die set. Again, you can customize the various packages with different ribbon and bows.

The small square box can remain a solid block that you add a ribbon to, or you can top it with a polka dot cut out piece to let the layered cardstock peek through.

This card starts with a 3 layer stencil called LAYERED CANDLES. I mean, who needs pattern paper when you can stencil like this? I used Pixie Spray - a light adhesive to hold the stencils in place for a crisp, clean image. The first layer is the solid candle, the second layer is the fun stripes and dots, and finally the third layer adds the candle flames.

The bows in the BUILD A GIFT die set allows you to add details to the bow - like I did on the green bow, or just leave the bottom layer plain - like the pink bow. The purple bow can be added as a single or double layer. The bows are not connected to the ribbons so you can add the different bows to any of the different packages. I added some pearls to the bow centers as eye candy.

I really didn't want to cover up that colorful candle background so I added a Scallop Oval to frame the gift packages. It's just enough to focus your eyes on the packages and not obscure the background.
