The 12 Kits of Occasions - Sum Sum Summertime!

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess this time is Michele Ferguson from I Card Everyone blog! This post is bittersweet because Michele has decided to leave the group at the end of the year. I've enjoyed getting to know Michele and her wicked sense of humor and will miss her being part of this group. The kit she put together for us reflects her love of laughter and clever intellect.

Here's a peek at the kit.. pretty patriotic papers in red, white and blue... the cutest marching band ever - each little guy EMBOSSED from My Favorite Things, and Son of the Beach.. cute summer fun from Ellen Hutson Designs!

I'm always on the lookout for things in the kit that I didn't use so I can CASE and stretch my goodies even further. Waste not, want not! SO my trixies this time included the bit of baby blue seam binding, vellum die cut tag, and the printed "sun of the" you see in the bottom right corner of the photo.

I had loads of fun.. here's what I made...

  1. What a fun array of cards, Jeanne! I adore Michele and agree 100% about her clever and wicked wit. So sorry to hear that she is stepping away from the group. Onto the cards. Love that marching band set. Great job using it! That boy running to the beach/water just cracks me up and you've used him so well. The lady and her sentiment also made me laugh. I can totally see Michele's influence in this kit. Excellent work with it! :)

  4. Jeanne, your cards light up my happy! The boy running on the beach has the most wonderful watercolor bg, adore that one with the white and kraft base. And beach lady's ombre outfit is gorgeous. I love your added elements; sunglasses, crab and shells. And love how we thought alike with the r/w & blue bunnies together with the extra large 'celebrate'! Have a great weekend!

  12. Jeanne, I'm so sorry that I've included so many tricks - it certainly wasn't my intention! lol See this is why I must call it quits - I'm much better playing with other peoples Kits, but not so great at putting them together!
I really love your cards - always so much fun seeing your layering genius!
