CAS-ual Fridays Awesomeness!

I hope you're having an amazing day!   There's lots going on so I hope you take some time to look around!  Today I'm sharing a project made with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!   Like everyone else I'm playing around more with watercolor - it's a great way to stretch your crafty dollars and minimize your craft supplies.  All you need is some watercolors, paper and a stamp set.

I like to paint with Ranger Distress Inks.  I have refill bottles for all my colors and use these inks to paint with.  I purchased the Ranger palatte which I'll be honest, I'm not crazy about, but I haven't foudn a better solution yet.   I like that it has lots of wells to drop ink into.

I have small squares of watercolor paper taped to the inside cover so I know what ink is where.  But I've found when I close the cover I'm getting ink on these sheets.  My solution to this is to lay a sheet of acetate over the swatches (its secured in place with some glue dots).  I still find ink on the cover when I open it, but now it's easy to wipe off and my swatches stay clean.   I've since added the names of what inks to my swatches as well.
I started with a panel of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and stamped the Starlequin border along the top and bottom in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
Next I watercolored with Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade.  I did a soft wash in the center of the design and used a paper towel to blot up the excess water and keep the color very light.

I stamped and colored the flower from Mon Ami the same way.  The coordinating Mon Ami Fri Die makes the flower easy to cut.  The leaves were fussy cut.   The sentiment is stamped on white card stock and cut with a simple banner die.
The bright bold colors remind me of stained glass!

Want to go shopping? There's lots of stamps in the sale section of the store, and yes.. you can double dip using my special code. Any commission that would normally be given to me has been redirected to CASual Fridays for their Calling All Sistahs Campaign to use toward breast cancer awareness and prevention. I do not accept any payment for products I use on my blog. I only work with products I love and would recommend.
