Calling All Sistahs - December Blog Hop

Calling all Sistahs! On the 17th of the month CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sponsors a blog hop to remind you and the important women in your life to make sure you're doing your monthly breast self-exam and scheduling a yearly mammogram. You can make a difference and you might just save a life!

1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection is so important for treatment! We want all the women in our lives to know how important they are to us and how much we want them to live strong healthy lives.

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps owner Michele is a survivor. She designed a line of stamps to provide support and to promote awareness. 50% of the sale of products in the "Calling All Sistahs" campaign are donated to breast cancer research and awareness.

If you're hopping along you should have reached me from
Penny Ward's blog.

You can get all the blog hop details and begin here - at the CAS-ual Fridays Blog!

We know everyone is busy busy busy with the holidays ! That's no excuse to neglect yourself!   That's why we're calling this the MAKE TIME blog hop!   I can't tell you how much this issue has been on my mind this month!  I've been getting Christmas cards with notes from friends I haven't talked to in a while and found that one has lost a spouse to breast cancer.  Another good friend was diagnosed with it this month.    This sad news breaks my heart!   There's no cure yet, but early detection is so important! This is a reminder to get yourself checked!

I think we all know someone who isn't getting their regular mammograms either because they're embarrassed or because they think they don't need to.   Why not remind them WHY they should get it done... not just for themselves.. but for us.
I wanted to give my card a little holiday twist this time for December.  I started out with strips of ombre pink that turned into red.. and then a few strips of green to make it Christmas.   I stamped two sentiments on some Tag Buddies Fri Dies.  I added a bit of gold dot washi to the flag shaped one to help define the edges.

I added some Friendly Flowers Fri Die cuts to the background to make it fun and festive - these could just as easily been a few snowflakes!

Ready to see more?  The next stop on this hop is Lori Kobular!  But before you go please leave a comment!    There's THREE $15 gift certificates up for grabs!  Winners will be selected from the comments left on the hop posts!  You have until 12 am USEST on December 19 to leave a comment!

Here's a list of the entire blog hop to help you navigate today!
