Calling All Sistahs November Blog Hop - Be Strong!

Calling all Sistahs! On the 17th of the month CAS-ual Fridays Stamps sponsors a blog hop to remind you and the important women in your life to make sure you're doing your monthly breast self-exam and scheduling a yearly mammogram. You can make a difference and you might just save a life!

1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Early detection is so important for treatment! We want all the women in our lives to know how important they are to us and how much we want them to live strong healthy lives.
CAS-ual Fridays Stamps owner Michele is a survivor. She designed a line of stamps to provide support and to promote awareness. 50% of the sale of products in the "Calling All Sistahs" campaign are donated to breast cancer research and awareness.

You can get all the blog hop details and begin here - at the CAS-ual Fridays Blog!
I love the new "BE" Stamp set - not only does it have a ton of beautiful butterflies, it also has these great sentiments!
I started my card by cutting the CASual Fridays Ruffled Ribbon Fri Die from Watercolor Paper.  Next I removed the ribbon and watercolored it in pinks.  I used Ranger Distress Ink in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Raspberry Preserves.

When the ribbon was dry I reinserted it into the die cut panel and taped everything on the back to hold it in place.   I used painters tape because so I could remove the pieces again later.   Next I stamped the sentiments on the pieced panel. I used my Misti so I could repeat stamp. Watercolor paper isn't smooth so you might have to stamp a few times to get into all the grooves.

So you might be asking why I painted before I stamped... I tried it the other way around, and although Versafine ink is "waterproof" it still smeared and didn't have the clean dark appearance I wanted.

When the ink was set I removed the washi and the watercolor ribbon, and stacked  a few "blank" ribbons  before adhering the final watercolored one.  This added lots of dimension.
The finishing touch was a sprinkle of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I used the iridescent ones in pink Fairytale Fuchsia and Ballerina Pink.

Want to go shopping?  There's lots of stamps in the sale section of the store, and yes.. you can double dip using my special code.  Any commission that would normally be given to me has been redirected to CASual Fridays for their Calling All Sistahs Campaign to use toward breast cancer awareness and prevention.   I do not accept any payment for products I use on my blog.  I only work with products I love and would recommend.

The next stop on this hop is Julia Altermann!  But before you go I sure hope you'll leave mea comment. Three random winners will be chosen among those who comment along the hop to win a $15 gift certificate to the store.

Here's the complete hop list of designers with projects to share today!
