Serendipity Stamps July Blog Hop!

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! Serendipity Stamps is having a blog hop to show you some of the latest products and remind you to play along with our challenge! Our blog hop theme this month is inspirational - dream, believe, create, imagine!

If you're hopping along with us you should have reached me from Mary's Blog! Lucky me! I'm the first stop on the hop this time!

I inked up the Butterflies in Flight stamp with distress ink (Spiced Marmalade), spritzed it with water and then stamped it on watercolor paper (Canson XL).
Next I watered down some Mustard Seed and  Spiced Marmalade and splattered it on the stamped panel.   There was still lots of white space showing (my nemesis) so I splotched on some additional ink with a brush.

Then I die cut the "Imagine" word die on the panel and added some gold gittery paper behind the die cut.  There were only 3 die cut pieces I had to put back in place - this is really easy to do when you insert the word die cut back in the opening, glue the missing pieces, and then remove the word die.
A sprinkle of gold sequins picks up on the glittery gold word die cut.
One more card for today! I'm hoping you'll join us at our challenge page - Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog - where this month's them is "Just Add Water". There's really lots of ways to do that - work with a stamp with a water theme - like a boat, or seashells, spritz stamping like I did on my first card or this simple technique on my second card.

For this one I stamped the "What Lies Behind Us" and the Butterfly Nouveau on watercolor paper and embossed them with clear embossing powder before watercoloring.  You could also use distress ink, and then splash it with water!
This technique would work great with so many of the stamps in the Serendipity Stamps collection.
This butterfly works great because of it's open pattern design.

I chose colors that remind me of summer flowers - pink, red, orange and yellow.
Our design team has lots more inspiration designs featuring watercolor to share today. Your next stop is Jenny Gropp! But before you go... make sure you leave a comment. One random winner will be selected from the blogs to receive a $20 gift certificate to Serendipity Stamps. You have until July 24 to leave a comment. Mary will announce a winner on her blog on Monday July 25.
