Winter Birds

Baby it's cold outside! But no need for the winter blues ! Just bundle up and get outside! Lots of migratory birds are returning to my area so every day seems to bring something new. Yes I'm anxious to see buds of growth on branches, but there is beauty in every season if you look for it. I've got a quick clean and simple card for you today featuring two little ducks making the most of the weather.. bundled up together! This die cut is called "Dixie Chicks". It's inked up on card stock paper, fussy cut and ready to work with.

To beat the winter blues I like to pull out colorful paper to work with. Life is good when you have lots of colorful crafty products to work with. This rainbow scallop stripe paper is from the Merry & Bright Collection. It's called "Eggnog". It's from the Christmas collection but I'll be using it all year long. It's candy for my eyes!
Pretty Little Studio has lots of clear patterned sheets to choose from too. It's a little more expensive than the pattern paper sheets, but it goes a long way when you embellish with it - adding strips as accents, or die cutting shapes from it. I chose the music print to go with the birds - like they're singing!

For a little more bling I added a sprinkle of sequins to look like snow falling.

Aren't they a happy couple? Have a great day!

  3. Good for you bundling up to brave the weather! Not me: staying inside today...the wind is CA-RAZY! Your snuggly little Dixie chicks are ever so sweet and oh, how pretty that background paper is. Won't be long before little birds will be hatching...
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! I don't have words to express how this catch up has made my heart sing. Now, feeling inspired and motivated, I'm off to craft for a bit (even though I should be vacuuming and tending to laundry. I have my priorities figured out, don't I. Actually, maybe some cupcakes should happen...hmmmm)
    Hugs~c
