WMCCC April 2013 - Old Bean Christmas

OK I told you I had every intention of getting caught up with the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenges and since it feels like winter here in the Chicago area I guess I'm feeling the spirit.  It is cold enough to make me want to turn the furnace back on and the petals of the cherry and apple blossoms blowing in the wind look just like snow.  The May challenge just posted so I'm not too far behind.   The challenge for April was to make a Christmas card with a stamp not originally intended for Christmas.  Such a clever idea - multi purposing your stamps and thinking of clever new ways to use them!

I'm loving the border in the "My Kind of Guy" set - it is so versatile, and I think it makes the perfect garland background for this one.    I hope you like it - it's a little cheeky!   To  make the center image I cut out the quilt pattern with a Spellbinder square die, and then used a square paper punch to get those cut outs perfect.  Just flip the punch over so you can see exactly what you are cutting off!
.

Thanks for having a peek!  Have a beautiful day!!

Jeanne

  2. I am jumping up and down over this one! If it wasn't 5:30 in the morning, I'd go wake my son up. He LOOVES Mr. Bean and all things mustachey. I'll wait 'till 6! ;) This is wonderful to repurpose your stamps for holiday cards. You're brilliant and this Christmas card ROCKS!
