Paper Sweeties September Release - Day 1

Welcome to DAY 1 of the Paper Sweeties September Release Preview!!   For the next two days the design team will be showing you the new releases and clever ways you can create with them.  You've already met the ladies.. Emma, Abigail, and Sophie.. and now we get to have fun with costumes! You will flip when you see some of the cute outfits and clever sentiments Debbie has put together just in time for Halloween.  Wouldn't these  make the most adorable greeting cards, party invites, or treat bag toppers for your very own  real life sweeties?

I made this quick and easy ghost card - no fussy cutting and very little coloring.  I simply traced over the outline with a grey copic, added rosy cheeks, and colored the pumpkin treat bucket.  I bent the sentiment to go around the shape of the ghost for a little added interest and mounted it on a fancy die cut.  This would be a great party invite using the "You're Invited" sentiment.
Next I dressed Abigail in a witch costume.  I wanted to keep the colors bright and fun.  To add the broom I masked off her "thumb" and stamped the handle.  I added the brush part of the broom buy stamping on a separate piece of paper, fussy cutting and adhering.

I hope you will stop by the other Paper Sweeties Design Team Blogs to see the new releases they will be previewing today.  Simply click on their names below to hop to their blog.  I'm sure you will be amazed by these talented ladies!

  1. Both of these are wonderful Jeanne. Terrific job on coloring the images (which are adorable) and I love your mix of papers & ribbon/twine. You definitely know how to spin the color wheel lady. :-) Have a great weekend, hugs.

  4. Both are so sweet, jeanne! I love the bright colors in the witch card, your coloring shadows on the dress are fab! Those pearls on her dress are just the perfect touch :) Then that huge ribbon?! WOW! The ghost is too cute on the first with that sweet little sentiment. Love the die frame you chose to use!
