Tuesday Throwdown #100 - Airplane

Grab Our ButtonI found some time to play this week.  My daughter has been freeing me up with the puppy for a little alone "crafty" time so I as able to make this one for the Tuesday Throwdown.  Can you believe this is their 100th challenge?  Congratulations to the Tuesday Throwdown!  Here's to many many more!
This week's challenge is "masculine" and with Father's Day just around the corner it is perfect timing.   I was asked to make this card for my friend Mary's dad who was a pilot "back when".  I knew he would like this plane image on the map background.  I  added a little air mail paper and twine along with a few red pearl pins like you might use to mark your destinations.  I didn't want to "girl it up" with ribbon so I added a bit of ruler twill and an oval frame.
Thanks for having a look - I hope you will join the Tuesday Throwdown in celebrating their 100th sketch!  You can get all the details here.

  2. Fan-freakin' tastic card! I've been up in a two seater before, but never one like this. Not sure I'd have fun or pass out from fear, but I do love watching them during the air shows! Your card is detailed perfectly right down to the last bit. LOVE IT! :)
    Hugs!

  3. Another 100th sketch? Wow that is a coincidence...this is a great masculine card, my uncle would love this card as he flies model airplanes that look similar to this image. I love the oval frame with the spellbinder frame over it and the patterned paper behind it. That was a creative idea. Love the stick pin too. Very neat card, Jeanne.
