Serendipity Stamps March Blog Hop - Mother's Day

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps March blog hop.  There are usually two a month.  Last month we threw in one extra to show you the new scroll egg and scroll heart stamp/die sets.  I was excited that one of the random winners came from a comment left on my site.... Congratulations NanaConnie!  Today our challenge was to create a Mother's Day card  that included a dimensional flower.
I hand made the pretty rose flower in the center of my card following a tutorial I found on line from Clare Buswell.  The technique requires several circles cut from a polyester fabric and heated until the edges curl.  I used a pearl bead with rhinestones wrapped around it with a wire for the flower center.  I added a few gold leaves and smaller flowers to fill it out a bit.  I slightly bent the leaves to give them more dimension.  You can see the flower tutorial here:  http://www.thehybridchick.com/2010/09/fabric-flower-gift-box/

I decided on this pretty teal blue because it is my mom's favorite color.  I added lots of gold embellishments including embossing the letter stamps to make it even more elegant.  This stamp is also beautiful colored, but I think the embossing really shows you all the beautiful detail of the stamp.
Serendipity has an entire set of floral embossed letters that you can purchase individually or as a set.  For this card all you need is the letter M.  Imagine all the other words you could spell out for a pretty wall hanging.  Maybe someone special's name?

I appreciate you stopping by to have a look at my card.  I hope you will hop on on over to the other DT member sites and see what they came up with for this challenge.  Simply click on their names listed here:

Thanks and have a great day!

Jeanne
