A Kept Life: Stenciled Stacking Cake

Today I've got a fun card for you made with supplies from Waffle Flower. It's a great big yummy Birthday Cake! I'm playing along at Crazy is our Fame Stencils are our Game challenge where as always they are looking for designs with stencils - birthday is the optional topping.

I started by making the die cut Stacked Cake. The confetti in rainbow colors is stenciled on with the coordinating stencil set. I used small brushes to ink each of the little sprinkles in a different shade.

The background is a Distress Oxide rainbow pastel that I foiled with the Splatters hot foil plate. I cut the panel with an A2 Lacy Layers die which is a must have die for me because it's great for layering and the stitched detail makes a big difference on my designs.

The little pink candles are inked with alcohol makers to add the "flames".

The finishing touch is a preprinted die cut "labelmaker" type sentiment from Waffle Flowers "subsentiment" series. This is the "birthday" set.
