Birthday Chrysanthemums

This weekend I was lucky enough to take a visit to the farm stand. It's always a big treat for me to see the gourds, pumpkins, corn stalks, hay and oh gosh... the Chrysanthemums!!!! SO many GORGEOUS colors and varieties to choose from!!!!

Today I'm playing along at The Flower Challenge with Waffle Flower Chrysanthemums that are just about as beautiful as the real thing.

I'm no expert at coloring so I colored each flower in different shades of the same color. This look is easy to achieve with just a few shades of each color. Double coloring with the same shade of color makes the ink saturation darker to create a new shade.

I chose a blue background for lots of contrast. The lighter blue panel was cut with the Dashed Rhombus background panel.

I added a skinny white stitched border strip from the Star Snowflake Die set to ground the simple "happy birthday" sentiment.

I hope you find some time to appreciate the change in the season and the beauty it beholds.
