It’s the most magical time of the year and I’m always excited to see the different holiday collections available from Simple Stories because I know that no matter what your style that there will be a little something for everyone!

Today I’m sharing eight cards made with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Christmas Lodge Collection. As the name implies, you’ll find fabulous vintage images as well as botanicals and wildlife in classic shades of red and green.

The collection includes “all the toppings”! You’ll find two different packages of printed, die cut bits and pieces, thick chipboard images and frames, stickers, decorative brads, enamel dots, and washi too! This set even has a “basics” set of solid cardstocks to mix in with the prints you’ll find in the collection kit.

I like to use the “Journaling Elements” and 3x4” elements to create focal points for sentiments and layering embellishments.

This collection is vibrant with bold reds and greens and striking black thrown in for contrast. The images are realistic and charming almost inviting you to take your time to catch all the details.

Being a card maker I really appreciate all the sentiments in the collection – especially the big bold sentiments that steal the show!

I like to arrange the different pieces on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base to help me decide on their placement. It’s really helpful to pick up the arrangement and layer it over different prints so I can see which ones are most appealing to my eye.

I love the vintage images - I mean who knew that Santa was an ice skater? LOL! This collection just makes me happy!

These cards came together quick and easy and I know that the recipients will appreciate that I took the time to make them especially with them in mind.
