Simple Stories Howdy! Collection

Well Howdy Pardner! Saddle Up! Because I’ve got a fabulous rootin’ tootin’ new collection from Simple Stories to show you! Give a big hello to the Howdy! Collection!!

I’m smitten with the classic wild west images that include everything from wagon wheels, and horseshoes to campfires and cacti! You’ll be boot stompin’ and breaking wild mustangs – and smiling ear to ear at all the goodness packed in this collection.

This collection is only available in 12” and that’s a good thing because the collection kit includes a sheet of tags, and a sheet of journaling elements perfect for building focal points on your cards. This collection has lots of your favorite embellishments like chipboard, bits and pieces, journal bits and pieces, decorative brads and washi too!

I always start the creating process by breaking up the pieces and cutting the large sheets in 6” squares. This makes it easy for me to lay out all the papers – half face up, the other half face down so all the prints are visible.

I use a clear sheet of plastic the size of my card front to arrange the elements so I can decide what I want where before committing and adhering them in place. This collection was great for making lots of “scene” cards. A few wavy lines and you’ve got hills and valleys to arrange buildings, characters and critters.

The paper color scheme is bold and bright – think primary colors suitable for all the little buckaroos (and even some BIG buckaroos) on your list. The prints are fun too.. I’m smitten with the bandana print paper and washi!

I like that the different elements work together well – meaning that the proportion of the elements is complimentary for my scenes. The following card is a good example of this.

I’m always delighted with the details you’ll find in every Simple Stories Collection... I mean... check out the little can of beans next to the chuckwagon stove on this card! Does it get any better than this?
