Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies! If you're hopping along you should have reached me from Galina Filippenko's blog. If you'd like to start at the beginning and get all the details you'll find them here at the Waffle Flower Blog.
If you know me then you know my two favorite things are die cuts and bright colors. Today I'm happy to mix them both together on this rainbow card.
I started by cutting the Diagonal Stripes cover plate from white card stock. Next I used scraps of rainbow colored cardstock and cut the colorful stripes. All of the stripes are inlayed so the cover of this card is smooth and flat. Next I cut the NEW Flying Butterflies die from white card stock. I adhered the white outline to the front of the card and then cut the butterflies one at a time from colored cardstock and adhered them inside the die cut openings.
I tried to flip the colors - putting the pink, red and yellow butterflies closer to the top of the panel where the opposite colors are. The blues are placed near the pinks and reds on the background panel. This helps enable them to stand out and not fade into the background.
You'll have sentiments for DAYS! LOL! I love having a stack stamped and cut.. ready for my next project to come together!
Ok so here's where the Social Butterfly comes into play! Check out the new Social Phone die! There are actually two different phone layouts so you can personalize the phone as you like! The die set even includes social media pop ups that are sure to make you smile.
If you like the layout with all the square color blocks .. here's a tip for assembling. After you cut the squares place them back into the die and tape them together while they're set in the die. This will keep them assembled and lined up perfectly. Remember that Waffle Flower die cuts come cut apart and adhered to a magnet sheet so you can start making right away - no cutting them apart!
My Social Phone is layered over a Triple Line Diamond background panel. If you look close you'll see that I added some color blocking to that as well.
For a little dimension I adhered the sentiment and a few of the icon bubbles with adhesive foam tape. Enamel Dots add a little more sparkle and shine. I love all the different color assortments that Waffle Flower has to offer.
