Altenew May 2019 Stencil Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

I'm honored and delighted to be a guest designer for the new stencil release at Altenew! I admit I don't have many stencils in my collection so I appreciated a chance to experiment with these using different techniques. After making FOUR cards for today's hop I 'm hooked!

I've got lots to show you so let's get started! For my first card I used the new Broken Chevrons Stencil. For all my designs I adhered the stencil to white card stock with Therm O Web Pixie Spray Light Adhesive. It's amazing for keeping the stencil in place as you in. This card was inked with distress inks in Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and finally Wilted Violet. I topped the inked panel with Rose Filament dies with all the cut outs left in place.

I inked a card stock panel with distress ink in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple using the new Deco Wonder stencil. I applied the inks with Yoseng make up brushes I purchased at Amazon. They give great control and add color quick. 

I cut the panel with the Floral Heart Frame and created a shaker with vellum in place of clear acetate for a softer look. 

This little ray of sunshine is called Illusion Spiral. To create this golden effect I applied Cosmic Shimmer Glue over the stencil and then added Nuvo Gilding Flakes.

The effects are stunning over the distress ink background of Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. The sentiment is from the new Fancy Greetings stamp set.

My last card features the new Ombre Stripes stencil. Again I used distress ink to make a rainbow colored background. I topped the stripes with the Super Striped Floral die. I adhered the die cuts to vellum and then trimmed them with scissors to create soft filled florals strong enough to stand up to the bold background.
