Color Throwdown - Magnolia Hello

Hello friends ! I hope you're having a great day! The weather has been gorgeous today so I spent some time outside. I was so excited to see the bulbs I planted in the fall starting to peek through the soil. I am so anxious to see them bloom! 

The sky is turning dark though.. and I think rain is on it's way so time to head inside! I went web surfing a few challenges and settled on this one at Color Throwdown. I don't usually play color challenges - I guess my mind just doesn't work that way.. but the photo on this one caught my attention.

I knew the Pretty Pink Posh Magnolia Flowers would be perfect for the pink, green and cream challenge. Magnolia's always remind me of spring in the South. If you have never seen these flowers in person you wouldn't believe how large they are - bigger than your hands cupped together. A beautiful sight to behold. 

I created a background of die cut Stitched Borders cut from rustic cream paper. The stitches from the cut borders and flecks of fiber in the paper give it lots of texture. 

Next I adhered two Pink Scallop Ovals to the center of the panel, and a slightly darker die cut "hello" from the Hello Friend Script die

I colored and cut the Magnolia Flowers and adhered them to the card. The flowers are colored with Copic E40 and R00 for a slight blush on the cream petals. The flowers are adhered with adhesive foam tape, and the leaves are adhered to the base of the card. 

The final touch is a sprinkle of Pink Blush and Watermelon Jewels to add a little more color and some sparkle and shine.
