Oh happy day! If you love embossing folders you're in the right place! Spellbinders is introducing their new Cut and Emboss Folders and we're having a blog hop to show you different projects created with these innovative designs! If you're hopping along you should have reached me from Janette Kausen's blog. If you'd like to start from the beginning you can get all the details here at the Spellbinders blog. There's lots to see so let's get started!
These new embossing folders are the plastic folder style you're used to and they go through your die cut machine with the same platform recipe. The big difference with these folders is that in addition to embossing a beautiful pattern they also die cut portions of the pattern for an extra layer of dimension.
I wanted to showcase these folders using different techniques to show how versatile they are. On the first pink card I used the Spellbinders Botanical Frame Cut and Emboss Folder and distress inked the edges with Picked Raspberry to bring out the detail.
On this orange card made with the Spellbinders Dotted Lace Cut and Emboss folder I rubbed a Spiced Marmalade ink pad over the embossing on the paper. Gold glitter paper is layered under the die cut embossed panel for some sparkle and shine.
I left this purple embossed die cut card clean with the only addition some Pretty Pink Posh jewels to accent the design in the embossing. All the sentiments are also from Spellbinders (see a complete list of products below).
For this card featuring the Baroque Filigree Cut and Emboss folder I created a panel of three shades of blue card stock. I taped the strips together on their reverse side to create one panel before running through my die cut machine.
The ombre panel is layered over gold card stock and embellished with gold enamel dots. I think this one is my favorite! Just look at that gorgeous pattern!
The next stop on this hop is Alicia Havranek but before you go PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT! There are two chances to win (see below) and more along the hop route!
