Tupelo Designs LLC - Floral Heart

Happy Friday!  We're still working on the craft room so I expect we'll be doing more of that this weekend, but it's getting close.  Here's the latest photo.  Updates include a ceiling fan, track lighting, and new desk.

I share this space with my family so the U shape desk is perfect for us.  There are two areas someone can sit in - a third person could sit int eh corner on the left.  We got a few IKEA ALEX cabinets for the drawers.

This ALEX cabinet on wheels provides lots of storage and also slides out from under the desk top so you could even pull up another chair and work.   We'll see how that works out once I get all my things back in place.

So what's next?  The rails for the shelves are going to be longer - I really love that I can change their height as my needs change.  They used to hold CD type cases, now they're holding binders,  who knows what I'll be storing things in later?  These shelves can change with me.   Lots of little details too.. like the molding around the cabinets.

So for now - I'm camped out on a few folding tables, but I'm still making things - and having lots of fun doing it.  Today I'm playing  with the Concord & 9th You Are Here stamp set.  I think this floral heart is GORGEOUS!  I thought I'd play around with coloring it three different ways.  The first (and my favorite) is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers.

Next I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black and colored it with Watercolors.  I kept a blue background on all three of the cards so you could get an idea of how they are the same and yet very different. 

And last but not least.. I thought I'd give the no line water coloring a go.  I stamped the image with Ranger Distress Antique Linen and then water colored it with the same colors as the previous design.

This one was the most challenging and I painted it twice before I was happy.  It was hard to define the different petals.  It was fun and good practice and I love the end result.
