Summer celebrations are in full swing! I'm seeing graduation and pool parties all over the neighborhood. I'm even hearing fireworks throughout the night - my poor dog! I almost made this card red white and blue to celebrate the 4th, but I couldn't resist adding a rainbow of color instead!
Have you seen the new "sash" style dies yet? They only cut across the top and bottom of the die - they remain attached on either end. These are great for just slipping a colorful sheet of card stock behind to let the die take center stage! I cut the Superstar Sash four times across the front panel of my card. I alternated the cut direction - flipping the die on every other cut so some have the loop facing up, and others have the loop facing down.
I colored the rainbow panel with Peerless Watercolors from Birch Press Design. To get that splotchy effect I pressed the paper between two large acrylic blocks I use for stamping and let them dry in between them.
I embellished my card with gold glitter stars cut from the same die (The Superstar Sash). They add just the right amount of sparkle!
I double cut the "Decor Celebrate" die - once from gold glitter paper, and once from gold foil. I stacked them to make the sentiment bolder and easier to read.
