Casology - Congrats

It's been a really busy few weeks here lately.  We had two graduations - my daughter and my son's girlfriend, and then off on vacation.  With all the usual events of arriving home after vacation (groceries, laundry, mail etc.) we still had to get the garden in.  We really have a short window for growing in the Chicago area - June - August so time was of the essence.    Job done and now I'm tied to the garden - I have to water every day until the seeds sprout - that usually takes me about an hour.  Like everything else, sometimes I love that, and others not so much.   I sure hope it's worth it and that the chipmunks didn't carry off all our precious seeds!
CASology is celebrating their 200th challenge!  There's even some blog candy up for grabs!  They're looking for projects that are CAS - you know.. easy to reproduce, lots of white space.  I made a few graduation cards with a simple watercolor background.

I used Peerless watercolors in two different shades.  A spatter of paint was the finishing touch before adding a die cut panel using the new Taylored Expressions Eventful Border.  I die cut the congrats into the border and put a piece of tape on the back so none of the pieces would fall out.
That one was for the boys.. now one for the girls - same technique only this time I stamped a sentiment with Versafine ink on the watercolor panel.
This was the card that I gave to my daughter.  Purple is her favorite color (maybe it runs in the family?).    I always bring crafts on vacation with me - I love the Tim Holtz mini distress inks and Peerless watercolor sheets.  They're both really compact and easy to add to my bag with some watercolor paper.
This is a simple watercolor wash - I added splotches of different shades of purple and let them blend together.   Still working on my splashes (what do you call the little sprays you do when you're done?)  Usually either too many or not enough.  I was happy with both of these.   They add to the "party atmosphere".

These were really easy to create - letting the paint dry was the only thing that took any time.
The stamp is from Taylored Expressions Sky High Sentiments.  There's lots of great words for inside and out.
Head on over to CASology - and join us!
