Fusion Card Challenge - Paper Hearts

Are you ready for a challenge?  Here's the latest inspiration photo from Fusion Card Challenge.  I am more inspired by photos than anything else.  When I saw this photo I thought it was fresh and how shall I say?  "interesting"?   I mean green, orange and purple hearts?  For Valentines?!!!   Don't get me wrong .. I loved the watercolor / stained glass look of the hearts in the photo, but I wasn't crazy about the colors and wan't sure if I'd be able to pull it off.  No worries.. if you're just not feeling it then go with the sketch this time.  I'm always trying (key word "trying") to be clever and incorporate the photo and the sketch together.  This one took me a little trial and error, but in the end I really love the way it turned out.
I originally envisioned a background of green orange and purple watercolor with white heart die cuts set on top.  When I finished my watercolor panel it just wasn't much to look at.    What to do next?
Well instead of throwing out my watercolor panel I die cut hearts from it.  I tried to keep each heart primarily one color  - green, orange or purple to help define each one.  I layered them like the sketch on a neutral base of  pattern paper.

The scatter of enamel dots, "love" die cut,  and sprinkle of gold foil hearts tie it together and move your eye around the hearts.  It amazes me how something that seemed so crazy at first looks so fresh and fun now.   Another good lesson.. take chances!
