Is there a new precious little one entering your life soon? You’re going to want to stay tuned to The Twinery Blog this week because we’re featuring all things baby! I’m kicking things off with a baby card featuring Midnight Blue Twinery Twine. I wanted to go bold for this one so I used bright yellow and navy to welcome a little man. The Twinery has a twine color that will pair beautifully with any of your design themes!
I wanted something a little fussier than a simple string through the tag, but had to keep it masculine so instead of a bow I threaded four strands of twine through the hole in the tag for more of a tassle look. Babies always make me think of soft stuffed animals, fuzzy blankets, and the clean smell of powder.
The tag is popped up on adhesive foam tape. I left the center of the tag empty of tape to create a channel for the the twine that wraps around the card cover. This allows the twine and the tag to both lay flat. I added some buttons as embellishments, letting them peek out from under the edges of the tag to add color and interest to the design. I also stamped a sentiment in the bottom corner. The strips of pattern paper are hand trimmed.
I used a stitched die cut tag and border from Pretty Pink Posh to compliment each other, and coordinate with the buttons and twine.
I colored the little monkey with Copic Markers for crisp clean edges. Of course a healthy little monkey needs a little color on his cheeks right?

ReplyDeleteOh my, Jeanne, an adorable, precious card; such a charming way to celebrate a little man's arrival. We have plenty of young teachers on staff...no babies at the moment, but who knows. Love this!
