So whatcha up to? The weather has been beautiful here in the Chicago area, not too hot, not too cold, just right! I keep telling my self to enjoy it now because I know it won't be here long so I'm trying to sneak in as much as I can - a litle reading outside, and grilling some dinner too. I'm also kicking around a few side projects, a garden blog so I can document all the wonders I find there, and a cooking blog so I can share what's for dinner. I already started roughing out the blogs - need to get a few graphics and other bugs worked out but those will both be coming soon.
I'm playing at Tuesday Throwdown today. This time they're looking for cards for kids. I'm addicted to Pattern Paper, and lots of times I struggle with covering up something that is "too nice" to be stuck on the bottom layer of a card. These are two quick easy projects with minimal stamping that allow the pattern paper to be the star of the show.
I used some of my favorite papers for these - October Afternoon Rocket Age. They've been sitting in the stash too long. I haven't seen a new scrap of paper from them in quite a while. I thought these would be neat boy cards!
For both of these I stamped the sentiment on pattern paper and embellished with a few buttons, die cut stars, and enamel dots. Fun sentiments from Lil Inker Designs compliment the stellar paper!
I hope you're having a great day!

What a great and fun pair of children's cards! I really like the collage look on the 2nd one, and the striking colors on the first! Cute!

These are fantastic, Jeanne! I love that you can translate your style to masculine so well. Super excited about your new blogs...can't wait to hear more about them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes indeed: perfect cards for boys and you've accomplished your goal of letting the papers be the 'stars' of the stage! Groovy and cool! Two new blogs in the works? Fabulous! Looking forward to seeing yet more expressions of your abundant creativity, and especially, your finds in nature!
