I know! What's going on right? Christmas in August? Well.. since It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year we figured we'd celebrate it more than once. The 12 Kits actually started out as the "12 Kits of Christmas' and we used to do Christmas every month. Now we save it for only a few times of the year and add other occasions as well. If you're not familiar with the "12 Kits", we're a group of friends who like to design cards. Each month we take turns providing a kit of supplies to the rest of the group. We all get the same products, make projects, and then on the last day of the month we post what we made. It's fun to see how are designs are different, or sometimes similar!
Friends have come and gone from the group over the years - we get busy with obligations and have to set our priorities. It's never an easy thing and it's difficult again this month to say good bye to Kelly Schirmer. Kelly is the original "Gingham Girl" and I can't even look at gingham with out thinking of her. She's been a good friend to me even before the days together at the 12 kits and I hope that when things settle down she might come back to the group.
Ready for this month's kit? Our hostess this month is Cathy Weber from Empty Nest Crafter Blog! Cathy provided lots of goodies this month... pretty pattern paper, die cuts, doilies, and LOTS AND LOTS of embellishments! There is usually one thing from the kit I haven't used or had a little trouble with that I like to keep an eye out for. This time its those shaped paper clips you see in the bottom right corner. There were so many goodies the hardest part for me was to decide what embellie to put with which card. I got 5 done so here goes!
Want to see more? You can click here to jump to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog where you will find a sample from each of the designers - you can click to jump to any of their blogs. There's also a complete ingredient list of all the supplies that were provided in Cathy's kit, Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

beautiful cards! great photos!
ReplyDeleteOMGorgeous happening here, Jeanne! Your array of Christmas cards are a feast for the eyes (not to mention incentive for getting to work on some Christmas cards of my own). You've created magic with this kit! The gingham, red/gold/black combination of the first, the pretty ornaments of the second, the elegant black/white of the third, the 'I'm smitten with' flourishy tree of the fourth and the decorated ornaments of the fifth - especially the musical notes - are all highlights for me. Stunning, inspired and inspiring!

First up...you have become THE best photographer! Every one of your photos looks like it was shot forby a professional for a magazine...Honestly! Second, your cards are beautiful as always. I love the plaid paper with the deer and the holly with the pretty sequins...I love how you combined so many things from the kit on this card. I also LOVED how you cut the pine sprigs and hung the three ornaments from them. Your bells uncolored on the black papers really is a striking card. Love that you didn't left the bells uncolored. I always look forward to seeing what parts of a kit jump out at you and am never surprised at the beautiful cards you make. I owe you a great big catch up email...will do that soon. Lots of old person stuff going on here and I am pooped at the end of the day. Miss talking to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun and cheery makes you've created from the kit, Jeanne! You are seriously the queen of embellishments! You know JUST what to put where!! Thank you for all the inspiration!! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWell....I have to agree with Cathy, your photos are so professional looking, it is amazing> I love all your wonderful cards, so creative and just beautiful. I can't wait to case you several of your cards. My favorite being the first with that beautiful black deer jumping for joy, just stunning.
ReplyDeleteAmen to what Cathy said about the photos! You sure made this kit your own and created some amazing cards! Love the gold wooden frame, just beautiful! The ornaments and pine branch is also another gorgeous card! Well, done, girl!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, beautiful cards, each and every one of them, these so put me in the mood to make a Christmas card!! And I agree with Cathy about your photography skills, fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSo amazing, Jeanne. Each card is so beautiful and so artfully staged and photographed as well. You really made the best use out of everything in the kit, including the patterned papers. I keep going back to look again and every time I look, I see some little detail I missed before. It is quite clear from looking at these cards that you are a real perfectionist. (Do I have that right?)
ReplyDeleteThe strangest thing happened yesterday. Your post did not show up on my blog until late last night! All looks good this morning though--thank goodness! Love every one of your cards! And ditto everyone's comments about your photography--just superb! Love the gold frame with the leaping deer and the striking black & white design with the bells. Is the top piece a die cut? Love the look! Your tree with the hearts is such a sweet design. It's amazing how some small embellishments can add so much. Really beautiful job with Cathy's kit!!
ReplyDeleteJust love seeing what each great designer does with their elements! Love yours, of course, always a favorite!
ReplyDeleteJoy reigns supreme on each card! You crack me up with the embellies. Queen Jeanne NEVER has trouble with embellies! Loving the gold joy frame with the stag silhouette. Just perfect!
OH what a treat this morning! You've done wonders with Cathy's wonderful kit! Were those lovely pine boughs in your kit? Gorgeous!!

Jeanne! So exciting to visit you during the 12 Kits of Occasions!! You have certainly known where to put those embellies! Honestly the kit is gorgeous, and you have created such an assortment of wonderful and different cards! I was really struck by that elegant black and white one. As an aside, I have to tell you that my Father's Day token gifts are taking shape, thanks to you. All the elements have finally arrived (my die arrived on Friday) and the production line of activity as begun. I will make sure to alert you when they are all completed!! Thanks again for the inspiration!
