Happy Thursday! Is it just me or is time flying lately? I guess with the kids home I'm in demand! What's for lunch? What's for dinner? Where's my shirt? You know the drill! Glad for my crafty time - just for ME! HAHA!!! Stay away from mom when she's "in the zone"!! LOL!!!
It's Thursday and you know what that means right? YAYY! A new challenge at CASE Study! AND.. it's a new month... so we have a new muse. It's Pamela Ho from MIAO A Design Blog. You'll know her from some of her DT assignments as well like Mama Elephant and Paper Smooches. Chupa has some fun planned for you this month - she picked some great layouts including this one. How do you play CASE? Well you copy and share everything of course! So all you need to do is study the design, look for the things you like, and make them your own. What do you love? The layout? The pop of hot pink on black? The die cuts? The sprinkle of Bling?
Me? I focused on the pop of color coming through the die cut number "24" (my fave TV show lately too by the way! GO JACK!) Ok... try to contain yourself here girl.... ummm... Right! Back to the colors. I turned the numbers into some die cut fish. First I die cut the fishies on kraft, then I taped that on top of some cream paper with repositionable tape. I inked up the fish and stamped them through the open "windows". When I adhered it all together onto the card base I used adhesive foam tape to give some depth to the window.
To get the different colors on the fish I taped off the section I didn't want inked, inked them up, removed the tape, stamped the image. Then cleaned the stamp, taped off the second half and did the same thing. To line them up perfectly I used a stamp a ma jig. I added some google eyes to up the fun factor and as a substitute to the bling on the original card.

Jeanne, this is gorgeous! I think this is the best card I've seen made with these stamps! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't even gotten in the front door tonight when the kids were demanding "What's for dinner?". I said, "I don't know, what are you making?" They're 11 & 6, and pretty much unwilling to be my slaves... yet! ;-)
OMG!! I'm on the floor!!! Seriously, you've SAVED the day. I've got a knot on my noggin' from banging this desk looking for a card for my dad by this weekend...I LOVE THIS ONE!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so stealing your idea....this is fabulous!
LOVE IT!!! and THANK YOU!!!!
Every time someone in this house asks what's for lunch, dinner, breakfast...
ReplyDeleteI simply tell them "whatever you want to fix"...

ReplyDeleteJeanne - this is wonderful! Love the colorful fish peeking through the negative space.
ReplyDeleteThis is just too darn cute Jeanne! I love your sweet fishies.
ReplyDeleteNow this is just too fun! What a great idea to stamp the colorful image on the inside with it peeking out.
ReplyDeleteWhen the kids say "what's for lunch" say: I don't know what are you making.
Thanks so much for the inspiration with this one. That was one of the first WPlus9 sets I bought cuz I found it so unique. What a great way to use it. I've never thought of multi-color stamping the fish!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable Jeanne! Love the fish and the stamping behind the negative shapes!
