MMB#15 - Hello!

Hi friends!  I hope you are having a great week!  It's rainy (yes again!) in the Chicago area, and unseasonably cool as well for July (wow! July!).  My son is off to work - his very first summer job - can you believe he has two?  I expect the one he likes best is at the fireworks stand!  He has started to date too (another reason to feel old), so I know the extra money will come in handy buying dinner and movie tickets.  My daughter had the day off and we snuck off to the theater.   You'd probably never guess from my fru fru style,  but I am a big horror/sci fi fan.  I wanted to go see World War X, but decided to wait until my son can join us since it's on the top of his list.    We went and saw the new Star Trek - Into Darkness.  It's so strange for me being an old fan of the TV series to see younger versions of my childhood friends.  They kept slipping in references to the original that I had to explain to my daughter.  Like ... who is Khan?  I mean seriously?

Today I'm playing along with the Monday Mood Board at WPlus9- it is a great way to inspire me to play with the stamps and see them from a different perspective from the other submissions.  I am also entering this at Simon Says Stamp's blog - this week is "Anything Goes" - you should see all the entries there.  I've bought  some of my WPlus9 stamps there so I figure it's on the up and up to double up on the challenges here.   The inspiration photo was a bit of a trixie for me this time.  I had to seriously think about that leopard print background.  I can't tell you how many sheets of patterned paper I looked at before I came up with the double embossed background I made for the card.  I say double embossed because it is dry and heat embossed.     I ran an ink pad lightly over the raised surface of the chevron pattern before I sprinkled it with gold embossing powder to pull out some of the detail.
I kept the double tag, and the color scheme from the inspiration photo.
Thanks for stopping by for a peek!  Have a great day - sneak in a little fun where you can!
Jeanne
