My bestie, Cathy Weber (aka Empty Nest Crafter blog) recently organized a Secret Santa over in the Waltzingmouse Forum. If you participated you were given a name of a person who you were to mail a hand made Christmas card to. In return you would receive a card from another participant. Today all the cards that were made are being featured over on the Waltzingmouse blog.
I'm going to start off by showing you the sweet card I received from my Secret Santa Super Jen Treadway! Isn't that snowman with the banner the sweetest ever? There are lots of layers on this card with lots of rich embossing. The striped paper in the background even has glitter! I was so surprised to receive this card because I assumed that the person I sent my card to would be the same person I would receive one from! Thank you so much Jen for absolutely making my day - and my holiday even brighter! I get to smile at this little guy for as long as I want now!
This is the card I made and sent to Charmaine Stack (Tweedcurtain Productions) I hope Cathy continues this tradition at Waltzingmouse. I know it is a lot of work for her matching people together. I feel so honored to have met so many creative people there and receiving a hand made card from one of them is a real treat!

ReplyDeleteHi Jeanne,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments on my blog! I'm always stopping in here at your blog to see your beautiful work. I love the idea behind the secret santa card sending! I'm sure Charmaine would have been thrilled to receive your card.
Much love - Happy New Year

You are so lucky--you received a fabulous card, and sent a fabby one, too. As usual, I love all the layers, bows and special little details. I think your snowman and santa could become friends.
ReplyDeleteLucky Charmaine!! What a gorgeous card you made for her, fabulous layers, and I love the funky retro colours and patterned papers!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so jealous - I would love to have taken part in this but I was having problems getting on to the forum when it was all happening! Maybe this year. What beautiful cards, both. Jeanne, the red, white and blue is absolutely stunning..wish I'd received one of these LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful idea and wow what a treat you got from your secret Santa!! I'm also just tripping over myself looking at the card you sent.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year my friend and here's to continued crafting in 2013.

Jeanne, both of these cards are just so beautiful. I love the one your received from Charmaine, so fun and festive with that adorable snowman holding the banner. Your card as always is a stunner, simply beautiful with all the fabulous little details that seems to make your cards shine.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for you to post , guess I mised it.
ReplyDeleteYes the snowman banner Jen made is adorable so is her sweet card.
Love the card you sent to Charmaine! I saw it on her blog this morning and knew right away it was yours. This was so nice of Cathy to organize .
Oh my, aren't we all blessed to be able to share our creativity with one another; those who love this craft as much as we do ourselves. You received and crated wonderfully creative cards!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Jeanne!
Wow - that little snowman with his banner is just wonderful. Love the bright paper and the embossed border. Love it. And your card to Charmaine is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words about my card. I was a bit out of my league making a card for the talented and celebrated Jeanne J! I'm such a clean and simple stamper but tried the "more is more" approach this time. Your card is simply wonderful. I am, as usual, amazed by your winning combination of elements and the stunning color combination.
ReplyDeleteOh, and PS. That trick of trimming down a Spellbinders label make a killer tag is INSPIRED!
ReplyDeleteBoth are just gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLove that happy little snowman...

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are such a treat to look at here Jeanne! How fun for Jen to have her snowman holding a banner (must remember that!) and your card is so lovely in the red, white and light blue!
