Another busy weekend for me. I've told you before my family is heavy into scouting. My husband is scoutmaster for our church sponsored troop and this weekend is our annual Christmas party. My favorite part of the party is the white elephant. The presents are all silly things we picked up at the dollar store like whoopie cushions, coal, googlie eye glasses, candy and glow sticks. It's always funny to see what will end up with who and what will be the most sought after prize. I think it will be the two liter bottle of Mountain Dew. We start with my husband opening his favorite snack - a bag of tootsie rolls. The next person can take the Tootsie Rolls or a new prize. Lots of trading goes on! I could watch them play for hours and some times that's exactly how long it takes!
I hope you have some quiet time this weekend to check out the new Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. We are working our way through a series of sketches by the Mischief Makers (YAY!) and this week the sketch is from Kim Duran of Paper Loves Glue. Kim has a style all her own - she has a way of mixing papers and patterns that is so eclectic - fun and trendy! I'm always amazed at what she comes up with! On top of all that she's a real sweetheart too! I tried to channel Kim a bit with this one by mixing fun papers and giving a bit of a retro look to my card with the fuchsia and parrot green. Nothing fancy to explain on this one - just simple stamping with a little fussy cutting on that sentiment tag in the center.
I hope you are getting in the mood as we get closer to Christmas and I wish you a little quiet time to play. For me sitting down and making something is relaxing, and when it all comes together it is as rewarding as fitting that last piece into a puzzle.
Hugs and Happy Holidays!
Jeanne
