Today I'm playing along with the The Ribbon Reel Blog Challenge. I have a good blog friend I met over at Waltzingmouse Stamps who is having a birthday coming up. She doesn't want any fuss, so I made this one in time to pop in the mail to surprise her. I don't think she will see this one unless you tell her so Sssshhhhhhhhhh! It's a secret.
Take a look at this inspiration photo. I thought my friend would like the classic black and white and romantic look of this card considering she is a genteel Southern belle. I don't know her favorite colors, only that she loves a vintage look and I know that big bow will bring a smile. I know she loves Waltzingmouse, Papertrey, WPlus9, Simple Stories, and Memory Box. OK do you know who this is for now? In case you are wondering who I'm talking about I will give you a little hint... her initials are... RL. Ok 'nuff said. Here's the nitty gritty on the card... finally broke down and got a stamp a ma jig - this was so helpful in stamping the frame and the cameo - I highly recommend this to those others who are resisting. I got mine at Joann's with a 40% off coupon. I layered the doilies so that you just get that pop of pink - using lots of pop dots under the solid areas of the doilies - like under those gems.
Here are some close up eye candy shots so you can see the elements on the card better.
And here is the finished card. I hope she likes it - it was a real pleasure to make for her and a special way I can show her that I'm so glad we met!

ReplyDeleteRL will love it! Those are such beautiful colors and that cameo looks so pretty cut out. I am so glad you like the stampamajig...I use it all the time now too, and it is just as good with clear stamps as it is with rubber. I love those cute little flowrs and the teeny rhinestones. Very pretty card.
