Hi and welcome to my post for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. This week's design is from Teresa Kline. I just got my set of Half Pint Heroines from the new Waltzingmouse release and couldn't wait to get them inked up! I've been seeing so many fantastic cards with such adorable fun scenes that I just couldn't resist this set. The images are really sweet but I am even more taken by the sentiments that are included. They are messages of love and empowerment for our young ladies and beautiful way to tell them how strong, brave, and beautiful they are!
I am always telling my daughter to be careful, do good in school, be safe driving, and on and on and on. Sometimes she is so responsible and on track that she forgets that along the way she's supposed to have fun too. I made this one for her in lots of bright sunny colors just to remind her to HAVE FUN!!!! School will still be there waiting in a few short weeks!!
To add lots of dimension and give my balloon the impression of flight I added lots of layers. I started out by stamping the balloon on yellow card stock. I stamped the balloon two more times on white and colored them both in Copics. I fussy cut and layered them with pop dots. Here is a close up of the layers...
I used the Spellbinders Wonky Squares die, and comic book small dot patterned paper to add a bit of whimsy to my design. To create my cloudy sky I stamped the clouds in white chalk ink. I hope you can see them better in this photo:
I hope you find some time in your day to play along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - it is a great place to have fun and make new friends! Maybe you will be the next Top Mouse - and who knows you might even win a free set of stamps! Thanks for stopping by!
Jeanne
