WMSC101 - Thanks For Being There Cameo

Summer is in full swing!  Kids are out of school and so many things to do together!  This is only the first week so I'm getting the "icky" things out of the way - school physicals, dentist, eye exams etc.  I even went to have the car serviced!  That alone took 4 hours!!  Gotta make the most of any alone time I get!  I am taking advantage of the sketch challenge this week and making a Father's Day card for my hubby.  He likes antiques and is a traditional sort of guy.  He is my biggest supporter - always telling me to do the things that make me happy!

This week's sketch is by Mischief Maker Edna Morrisedie.  It looks a little tricky but you're up for a challenge right?  You can find lots of inspiration and examples to get your creative mojo flowing here.  You might just want to stop by and see if you were a winner from last week.   There were lots of entries showing off so many different stamp sets - it's a great way to get ideas for different ways to uses sets you already own - or inspire you to buy a few new ones!  Remember, since we were celebrating the 100th sketch there were a few prizes up for grabs.  You just never know....  May the dancing mouse be with you!
I didn't want to girl this one up too much - I added a bit of lace behind the button to keep with the vintage feel of the card.  To make the lace rosette I threaded ribbon in and out of the holes in the lace and then cinched the ends together.  I hot glued the button on top of the gathered edges and then hot glued it to my card so it will stay put.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to have a peek and for always making my day better!
Jeanne

  1. This is a wonderful card, and your husband sounds like such a sweetie--a real keeper! Love all the shades of blue that you used. And, how fun for me to spy some October Afternoon patterned papers that I used for my 'On My Couch' 4 of a kind kit.

  8. It's always the little touches you add to your cards that makes them so special and interesting. The little handmade rosette, the two different kinds of twine and the stamping on the sentiment panel behind the sentiment itself...just a wonderful card. The photography is also really good on this one!
