I am so excited! Did you see? This week I am the guest designer for The Shabby Tea Room. I have been counting down the days because I always love visiting with Debbie Marcinkiewicz and the Shabby Tea Girls to see all the gorgeous designs they are working on. It is always a feast for the eyes and there is never a shortage of vintage images, lace and roses! The inspiration photo this week is "Pretty as a Pitcher" and you are asked to include a rose on your project. You can click here for all the details. I had a lot of fun with this one - so many beautiful elements to spark your creativity!
I wanted to capture the elements of the inspiration photo that caught my eye - the gorgeous flowers, the porcelain vase, the newsprint, doilies, and the pattern on the top book. To capture the colorful bouquet of flowers I arranged an assortment of paper roses, cherry blossoms and daisies along with some newsprint foliage across the top. I made the background to mimic the blue book cover by embossing coordinations blue paper and sanding it down to reveal the white interior. I added a Cheery Lynn Francesca border, and a Spellbinder Floral oval to pick up on the lace .
Thank you for having a look. I hope you find some time today to play along!
