I made this card today for the Operation Write Home Wednesday Challenge. This week they are looking for "Miss You" cards for our service men and women to write home on. OWH puts a few restrictions on cards including size - 4.25 x 6.5", embellishments - no glitter, and thickness - not too high on the pop dots. They want to be able to pack the most cards in each box that goes overseas and reach as many of our troops as possible. Considering all they do to serve our country I find this list easy to comply with.
I kept this one clean and simple - a beautiful stamped image from Serendipity stamps colored in Copic markers and matted on kraft paper. I added some simple twine to tie in with my garden them with the "Miss You" sentiment on a tiny tag to make it a little more special.
If this is a cause you can get behind I encourage you to make a few cards to send to OWH. You can get all the details here: http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/2012/03/miss-you.html Who wouldn't love to receive a beautiful card hand made by you to write home on? I bet the loved ones back home will find your card a treasured keepsake. If you like this card please leave a comment. As always, if I get a positive response I will make 10 more to send to OWH.
Thanks for having a look - have a great day!!
Jeanne

ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! And the coloring is wonderful! (I've only been working with Copics a short time and have so much to learn.) I've used craft paper and twine in the past, but quite honestly forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me!
