Spellbinders April 2022 Card Club Kit

Have you tried one of the Spellbinders club kits yet? I've been getting the small die of the month for a few years now and I love it.! Every month for $15 I receive a die - this month its a little picket fence with lots of little florals.  I never know what I'm going to get and am rarely disappointed. I've been playing with the Card Kit for a few years too. Here's a peek at the April 2022 Card Making Club Kit.
The kit is really a great assortment of products. Here's a peek at this month's kit. Card kit's have come a long way and they just keep getting better. It's awesome getting a package delivered straight to my front door every month with product chosen to coordinate.

I didn't have to add ANYTHING to this kit - everything you see was included. The only thing I added are the colored envelopes to help define the edges for the photographs. White envelopes are included in the kit for mailing your cards.

The kit includes a 6" pad of pattern paper. The sheets are light weight and many have foil accents. Each pad includes two sheets of each print. You'll also receive some letter size solid cardstock for die cutting or adding mats to your designs. You can also use the cardstock to create colored card bases.

One of the best things about this kit is that it includes a die set. So long after your papers and die cuts are gone you still have something left to make with. Here's what you can make with the die set included in this month's kit!

I love the spring theme of this months kit.. flowers, birds, folks walking in the park or running out for a cup of coffee to enjoy a lazy day.

The die cuts in the set always include two of each so you can make two of each design you imagine or double up on the images.. for example I could have stacked the same size tree on this card or added another behind the houses.

It's easy to make scenes by cutting waves in pattern paper to create easy landscapes.
The Spellbinders Card Making Kit is $38.50 a month and that includes shipping in the US. You can subscribe and receive a surprise in the mail every month, or you can wait until the first of the month when the kit is revealed. I haven't been disappointed yet.

I'm sharing three cards made with the April Main Kit. It's loaded with pretty papers from PinkFresh Studios, some chipboard frames, stickers, foam sentiments and wood veneer images.
The only things I added to this kit are card bases, adhesives (double sided tape and foam) and pearls and washi from my stash to add more color.
I love the sunny floral images and pretty butterflies. There are lots of accents with faux stitching that are just lovely.
I love the pretty butterflies and soft colors. It's easy to mix and match the chipboard and printed pieces to make beautiful designs.

Butterfly Swell

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and you'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!
This time the photo inspiration is a blue color palette. I was drawn to the ombre shades and beautiful butterflies! Not feeling inspired by the photo or the colors? That's ok.. you can still play along with the sketch. And if you're feeling clever you can fuse the sketch and the photo together!
I pulled card stock in all the shades of blue in the inspiration photo and topped them with a panel that I die cut with pretty butterflies. This is the Butterfly Swell die from Memory Box.

I trimmed the edges of the die cut panel so that the striped blue panel would show on the ends as well as the swell in the center of the die. The sentiment is new from Poppystamps - its silver foil on black cardstock from a sentiment set called Modest Greetings 1.
I scattered gems in two different shades of blue along the outer edges of the design. They add more color, some shine and perhaps some motion for the butterflies.
Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see how you interpret the inspiration photo OR the sketch. Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and make new friends! I'm always inspired by the team as well as the linked up designs!

Simple Stories Summer Lovin' Collection

It’s been a long hard winter and I am SO READY for some sunshine and time spent outdoors! The Simple Stories Summer Lovin’ Collection has me dreaming of good times in the sweet summertime!
I’m thinking about lemonade, frozen treats, road trips and smores! Summer nights chasing lightning bugs (or do you call them fire flies?), fresh flowers, dipping my toes in the pool AND the sand with trips to the beach! This collection has it all!
Summer wouldn’t be complete without a long road trip ending in a camping trip. To celebrate we’ll have a cracker barrel and a roaring fire before the next day when we hit the trails and take lots of photographs!

If you’re not road tripping a staycation is perfect in lawn chair in your own private paradise – your back yard. Did I tell you this collection has EVERYTHING? I just can’t wait! Come on Summer!
Cards and scrapbook pages come together quick when you have pretty papers, die cut images, sentiments and stickers, embellishments and so much more all coordinated to work together and perfectly color matched.

I love that the 12” pattern paper collection includes sheet so tags, journaling cards and a sticker sheet too. The images are an assortment of die cut bits and pieces, chipboard and stickers (from the sticker sheet).

You’ll find sentiments in the Journal Bits and Pieces, the 12” sticker sheet (included in the collection kit”) and in the Foam Sticker pack. I love the mixed fonts and sweet sentiments. My hands down favorite embellishment in this collection are the little bugs!
This collection is perfect for documenting your summer adventures. I'm going to use these cards to remind friends and family of the fun times we've had together and maybe get them thinking about our next adventure.
Simple Stories has a way of capturing memories and making me reminisce about my own experiences from a lifetime of adventures. I bet you’re thinking of a few of your own right now too!

Grateful Heart Thank You

I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm sharing a thank you card made with the Pretty Little Studio Grateful Heart Collection. This collection is listed under "fall" but I love the rich amber, violet and eggplant colors all year round.
My card starts with a watercolor "Afternoon" paper topped with a zig zag print journaling card. The card has a circle printed in the center making it the perfect focal point for a sentiment.
I arranged pretty florals around the sentiment with adhesive foam tape to add some dimension.  The gold foil sentiment is from my stash.
Stickers are great for adding details. I added a small sentiment sticker and faux stitching along the bottom edge of the card. I think the secret to making with pattern paper is alternating solids and prints for contrast and pattern definition.
Hugs to you and I hope you find some time to make!
