Go Bananas!

Today I'm playing along with As You Like It Challenge where this time they want to know your favorite animal - could be real or fantasy - and why!

When we go to the zoo I love to see the monkeys!!! I think they are the most entertaining.. they're always up to something! I love their agility, intelligence and how clever they are.

These little guys are from the Waffle Flower Jungle Party set. it includes Elephants, Monkeys and Toucans along with some extra accessories like bananas, leaves and trees.

The background is gold foil called Doodle Print. I hot foiled it with brass foil and then inked it with Distress Ink in soft pastel colors.

A die cut heart seemed like the perfect background for these little guys. I added a sentiment from the Fruity Pun stamp set.

Hey Sweetie!

Hey Sweetie! I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm playing along at the challenge at Time Out. This time the challenge is to be COLORFUL. That's not hard for me!

I will admit I've been resistant to stencils, and that's mostly because I haven't been getting the nice clean results I've been looking for. The Waffle Flower Grip mats have been a game changer for me because they hold your stencil in place with no adhesive. So no more spray adhesive, no more washi or other tape.. just the mat and paper and you're good to go.

I started by inking a bunch of the honey jars (mine are jelly / jams) in lots of different colors. The stencil allows you to ink four jars at a time and the die actually cuts all four at the same time.

I used the coordinating stamp set to add little twine bows and eyes and smiles to the inked jars.

Now for the background... I die cut the Windows 3 Hexagon twice from a panel of white cardstock. I inserted colorful cardstock in colors that coordinate with the jars into the openings.

A simple sentiment and a sprinkle of enamel dots finish off this clean design.

No Tricks Just Treats!

Do you love Halloween!? I sure do! And I'm loving the latest release from Pretty Pink Posh! It's got ghosts, pumpkins, and lots of unexpected treats like these Halloween Cupcakes!

The stamp set has six different cupcakes to choose form. I selected ones I thought would coordinate best with the stenciled Layered Argyle background. This one was inked in three colors and I'm telling you .. the new Waffle Flower grip mats have made this so much easier for me to do than any other product I've ever used. The matt holds the stencil in place so no adhesive is required. You can see the Waffle Flower Grip Mats by clicking here if you're curious.

I colored the cupcakes with Copic Markers and added a few embellishment images from the Boo To You set. Alternately I think a splatter of ink might look nice too, but it's hard to layer patterns on patterns. I like breaking things up with solids.

A little bling is always good for the eye candy this time of year.. heck every time of year right? I love the jewels because they come in four different sizes all in one pack. And you just can't beat the shine.

New Beauty

I'm starting to feel summer coming to an end. The kids are back in school and the garden is quietly receding, no matter how much I water them. I intend to hang on to the flowers just as long as I can, and these beauties from the Pretty Little Studio Sunkissed Collection are stunning.

I love the papers in this collection because there are so many options. The papers on my card are from the Accent pad. It looks like I spent lots of time mixing and matching papers and patterns but the sheets are printed this way!

I layered on beautiful blooms from the Smell The Flowers pack. It includes 43 different die cuts that are fun to arrange - each one prettier than the last.

There are lots of sentiments to choose from as well. This one is from the Happy Blossoms pack. I love how the colors match - the papers, florals and sentiment.

Take time to smell the flowers because the seasons change so quickly and every day brings new beauty to discover.
