CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January ReleaseCup of Coffee & Coffee Cup Fri Die

Ahhhh.. nothing starts the day like your favorite cuppa! And.. a new release is pretty eye opening too wouldn't you say? Are you ready for the new CAS-ual Friday Stamps January Release? Today (December 31) through Friday (January 5) we'll be revealing one new set a day!

Today we're sharing the Cup of Coffee Stamp set and the Coffee Cup Fri Die set (you can see the graphics below).

The stamp set has lots of sentiments that fit perfectly on the coffee mug. Don't you love the heart shaped handle? The Fri Die set includes a large mug, a small mug and the "coffee" word die in a pretty font.

I added a Lovely Links Fri Die cut to my design to look like a bit of lace, and some swirled gems as steam.

The 12 Kits of Occasions - Fashonista

It's the last day of the month! You know what that means right? This month that mean's it's NEW YEAR's EVE.. but today like the last day of every month it's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all like to paper craft! Each month we take turns providing the rest of the group with a "kit". The host chooses the theme and supplies. Our hostess this month is Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion.

Tracey's style is totally clean and simple.  I'm always amazed by her clean designs - they remind me of letterpress cards - very elegant!    I think I might just scare the heck out of her with all the layers and embellishments I added on to my cards today! LOL! I can't wait to see her cards - it will be a wonderful contrast of styles!!

The theme this month is "Fashionista"!  I was delighted with the fun feminine images and pretty prints!  I made 4 cards to share today!

Pretty Little Studio - Home For Christmas

Christmas Greetings! It's finally here! I'm sharing two cards today made with the Pretty Little Studio NEW! Home for Christmas Collection! You'll love the soft watercolor look of the papers and embellishments! 

This is one of my favorite layouts, and I've made a simliar card with several other collections. To recreate this card you'll need to start with a darker shade of card stock for your card base, topped with a lighter shade of card stock cut slightly smaller. You want a lighter card stock on top so you can add lots of elements and let them steal the show.

Add die cut or sticker labels spaced evenly over the lighter card stock panel, and embellish the labels with die cuts, flairs and other embellishments. I try to match the embellishment to the label color. For example: I placed a red poinsettia on a red label.

I added a few gems and sequins for some sparkle and shine.

My second card was really easy to put together because I used the big floral die cut from the Grandma's House pack.

I started with a background of pattern paper topped with a doily, and then the large floral die cut.

I added a few accents, like a sticker label at the top so I can personalize with a name or a sentiment, and a scatter of sequins.

I love the bit of lace peeking out from behind the florals - it's like lace next to the watercolor floral design.

Tuesday Throwdown - Reindeer Games

Looking for a fun challenge to play today? The Tuesday Throwdown Blog has "ANYTHING GOES" this time! SO NO EXCUSES! There's plenty of time to play too!

I'm playing with the Pretty Pink Posh Reindeer Friends stamp set! The set includes lots of reindeer in several different poses so you can create lots of fun scenes.

I've got one reindeer adding to the stack of packages that will be heaped on to Santa's sleigh. Another reindeer is practicing take off. Don't you love the pretty gold Stitched Stars?

The last reindeer is a little doe - she's got a red bow in her hair. The set also includes a Santa cap that I added to the sentiment just for fun!

Tupelo Designs LLC - Christmas Joy!

Happy Friday! This is my day to post for my favorite store - Tupelo Designs LLC! Can you believe it? Christmas is almost here! I thought I'd sneak in one more Christmas card before it's too late. There are so many wonderful Christmas stamps to select from the store that I just couldn't limit myself to one or two! 

This was made with the Waffle Flower Poinsettia stamp and matching die set. The poinsettia is a multi stamped image that was a little tricky for me. I started by stamping on plain white paper - which would be ok if you're going to do a single layer design. I wanted to die cut mine, and when I went to cut them they weren't lined up correctly.

A better way to do it would be to cut some of the dies from plain white card stock. Save the negative of the cut to use as a template inside a stamping tool. This makes it so much easier to align the images, and you can repeat the process easily by replacing the white die cut with every stamping of the design.

I stamped several in different shades of pinks and red. I used Altenew inks that are "self healing" - meaning they never leave any blotchy impressions. The ink spreads evenly over your paper as it soaks in and dries. I adhered the die cuts to a sheet of colored card stock, and added the little joy tag sentiment from the set with twine.

Simple Stories 2018 Collection

This has to be one of the busiest times of the year! We’re reuniting with friends and family. The kids are off school, or coming home from college, and we’re running in all different directions. There’s dinners to plan, and gifts to buy!

As the days start counting down to 2018 I’m filled with thoughts of how I can make this year better than the last. It’s time to reflect on accomplishments and failures of 2017. Most of all, in 2018, I want to appreciate each moment and to live in the “now”. I want to show appreciation for the ones I love EVERY day, and try to make a small difference to those I can help WHENEVER I can.

If you’If you feel the same way I think you’ll love the new Simple Stories 2018 Collection. The 12” Collection Kit contains everything you need to make memorable cards and layouts to celebrate the coming year. The messages are inspirational and encouraging!

The collection is a classy mix of black and white with a touch of gold. It’s got images of clocks, balloons, fireworks and champagne flutes. It’s a party in a package! 

I think the 12" Collection Kit is a great value too! I cut the papers down to 6" squares. Some of the sheets are printed with journaling cards. I like to use the smaller ones for the focal point on my cards.

The sticker sheet is loaded with images as well as little sentiment strips that are perfect for embellishing your projects.

Some of the stickers I adhere with adhesive foam tape. I attach a piece of foam tape to the back of the sticker (leave the protective cover on the foam tape) and then dust it with baby powder to remove the adhesiveness of the sticker. Lastly peel off the protective cover off the adhesive foam tape and adhere the image to your project.

There are lots of wonderful images in the kit that are easy to embellish with.

The gold print on the images in this collection are NOT metallic foil - they are printed with a gold color ink.
