The 12 Kits of Occasions - Merry Christmas!

It's the last day of the month! You know what that means right? We'll it's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions of course! The 12 Kits is a group of 12 friends who all like to paper craft! Each month we take turns providing the rest of the group with a "kit". The host chooses the theme and supplies. Our hostess this month is Jessica Davis from The Paper Parade!

Jessica is a very dear friend - always going out of her way to do things for those she cares about. This kit is a wonderful look at Christmas through Jessica's eyes. I see her love of family, cooking, and a bit of whimsy in the images she selected for this kit. Here's a peek!

She's included images from Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, and Neat and Tangled. There's pretty pattern paper in red, green, aqua and grey. She included embellishments too - wood veneer tree and star, felt cut snowflakes, crystal clear buttons, twine and grosgrain ribbon!

I had so much fun that I made 7 cards!   That might just be a record for me!  LOL!  I added die cuts from Pretty Pink Posh and Reverse Confetti, and a brick embossing folder from Tim Holtz.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - Vintage Ornaments

Can you believe it's almost December! I hope you're not scrambling to make your Christmas / Holiday cards... but if you are, there's lots of challenges that will give your creativity a little kick start. Today I'm playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge!

I love the non traditional colors for the challenge this time! You're asked to use green, blue and white silver or vellum on your project. Here's what I made!

I was inspired by the shiny ornaments in the inspiration photo! I'm using Reverse Confetti Vintage Ornaments stamped in Island Blue and Parakeet.

I stamped the sentiment from Sentimental Christmas directly on the pattern paper. I mixed papers from two different pads - the blue and type print are from Warm Heart, the lime is from Cheerful and Kind.

I added lots of silver accents.. the hangers for the ornaments are stamped in Silver Delicata ink. The Star Garland and bitty stars (from the Stars Pretty Panel) are cut from silver glitter paper.

Challenge Me A Christmas Card - CANDLES

Is it starting to feel like Christmas is just around the corner? In a panic and looking for ideas? Michelle Lupton My Fusion Card Challenge Teamie, CAS-ual Friday's Girl Friday, and creator at Handmade By Michelle blog is having a special event! Every day she has a different challenge - Michelle makes a card, and she asks one of her crafty friends to play along too. Some of the challenges are very unique and creative so you'll want to check it out! I got an easy one! The challenge Michelle and I are both playing along with today is "CANDLES"!

I made this card using all Poppystamps dies! 

I started by die cutting a large POINTED OVAL FRAME die cut. I traced the outline on a card base and inked up everything outside the oval with Tumbled Glass distress ink . I placed three Formal Candles inside the oval, but before I adhered them I die cut a circle and used it as a mask to ink up the glow in Mustard Seed for each candle. I added more ink in Squeezed Lemonade being very careful to stay inside the pencil marked oval.

Next I added a slightly larger oval cut from gold and adhered it over the pencil drawn oval. All that was left to do was embellish the candles with pine boughs and poinsettias.

I'm loving all the new dies Altenew has been coming out with lately. This pretty leaf design is called Striped Leaf.

I cut the die from white card stock, and then adhered it to a white card base with Elizabeth Craft Double Sided Adhesive. The inside of the die cut openings is very sticky using this product. Next I applied three shades of coordinating glitter to each leaf for an ombre effect. I rubbed the glitter into the tape so it sets well. Also I used some scrap paper to cover the other leaves so the glitter would go only where I wanted it. 

The effect is gorgeous! So sparkly! I added a simple sentiment so the background remains the star of the show. A few black dots coordinate with the sentiment.

Fusion Card Challenge - Naughty Or Nice?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you have plans for a fun day doing whatever it is you love! I'll be having a house full and cooking a big meal. I always get so miffed when I think about all the hours that go into making a feast.. buying the groceries, hauling them all home, prepping and cooking.. and it all seems over in a blink of an eye.. and then it's time for the cleaning! I hope your guests know the effort that went into the preparation and enjoy the meal. 

Maybe when they've all gone and the house is quiet again you will find some time to relax and do a little crafting! Maybe you will be doing some on line shopping too! 

Fusion Card Challenge has a new challenge that begins today. You can work with the photo inspiration or the sketch. If you are feeling clever... go ahead! Fuse them together!

I tried to mix them together this time... lots of reds and white and Christmas/Holiday theme just like the inspiration photo.

All the supplies I used are from Reverse Confetti. Instead of an oval in the center I used one of the Pierced Round Top Layer Confetti Cuts. The background papers are from the new Cheerful and Kind 6" paper pad. 

That cute Christmas Tree is called Branch Out. I decorated it with dots that I saved from tag die cuts.. you know the little hole for the string? Santa is from the Jolly Holiday stamp set. I added some Holly die cuts to keep it festive.
