12 Kits of Occasions - This is Halloween!

Ok so here's your warning!   Lots of photos in this post.. but maybe you already expect that when you come to visit me! LOL!  I love when I can see all the details on a project when I'm getting lost on the web, so I'm sure to include lots of close ups of my own projects.

It's the last day of the month.... that means it's time for the 12 Kits of Occasions reveal.  The 12 Kits is a group of 12 friends who love to paper craft.  Each  month one of us takes a turn at making up a kit to share with the rest of the group.  I am so excited because September is my month to be hostess!  The theme this month is Halloween.  I was thinking that this might give some of you ideas on cards to make for yourself.

So this kit.. umm.. it became somewhat of a monster!! Here's a pic of some of the goodies that were inside (you can see a complete list of ingredients on the 12 Kits Of Occasions blog).  I look at this as my chance to give back to the group for all the wonderful kits I got for the other 11 months of the year.. I just kept adding and adding to the kit.  Of course a few new sets came out just as I thought I had everything done.. so I added even more.  I told everyone to just use what they like and toss the rest.  I hope they forgive me for getting carried away.  I'm just a "people pleaser".  I want everyone to have something that they WANT to work with.

That said I know that you're going to see LOTS and LOTS of cards today if you hop to everyone on the list!

I know I normally tell you what was a trick to work with.. but I've decided that's not for me to say this time.  Of course I think everything was a treat - it's my kit afterall!

Here's what I made

Well I know that was a lot right?  I'm sure hoping you want to see even more.  Here's a list of the rest of the 12 Kits of Occasions Design Team.

I feel so blessed to be a part of this team that I had to make some extra kits so I could invite a few friends to play.  I hope you'll visit them as well...

Tupelo Designs - Feather More!

Happy Friday!  Are you ready for the weekend?   I'm looking forward to relaxing.  If we get a nice cool night and the mosquitoes are asleep, I'm hoping to have a fire in the yard.   There's still lots of projects to do here.  Can you believe it's time to tear out the garden and empty all the potted planters?  It seems like I was just putting seedlings in!

If you follow my blog you know Friday is my day to post for Tupelo Designs LLC.  I'm really loving being on this team.  Since I get to work with ANYTHING in the store this gives me a chance to work with lots of new products.  Things I've been eyeing up and wanting for a long time!   Tupelo Designs LLC carries lots of my favorite brands.. Reverse Confetti, WPlus9, Altenew, Sugar Pea Designs and so many more.   It's a great place to shop because you can mix and match brands and shipping is always free - no minimum.

I also like that I get loyalty reward points for every dollar I spend.  These points turn into dollars that I can use on other purchases - because you and I both know that you can NEVER have too many stamps.

I've been working on switching out some of my ink pads too.  I've been at this for a while now.. can you believe since 2011?  So I'm thinking it's time right?

I'm loving the Altenew inks in the shop - they're great for multi layer stamping.  But for solid images like these feathers from Waffle Flower I like to use Pigment ink.  Pigment ink is different than Dye ink because it sits on top of the paper - it doesn't sink in to the paper.  It's thicker and takes longer to dry but gives nice solid coverage on images like these.  My favorite brand for pigment ink is Avery Elle.   They have lots of beautiful colors to chose from!  You can see all the pigment inks in the store here.

I used the Waffle Flower Doily Circle as the base for my card. I wanted it to look like a dream catcher. I attached the colorful feathers with adhesive foam tape.
At the top of the feathers I added a button threaded with button twine - I strung e beads to the ends  for some extra detail.

The finishing touch was a sprinkle of sequins.

If you haven't tried Tupelo Designs LLC yet I hope you will! Your supplies arrive so beautifully packaged - it's like a little present in the mail. A nice pick me up, and a great way to treat yourself!

Tag You're It - Creative Fuel

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  Are you a coffee lover?  You're going to love this latest challenge at Tag You're It!   Here's the inspiration tag from our Guest Designer this time -  Richard Breaks!!  You might know Richard as Mr. Cardmaker!   If you haven't checked him out you need to do so right away!

I'm a big fan of Richard!  I love his style... he's always experimenting with different techniques.  I always hesitate to try new things... when I think something is perfect I just stop.  Richard is always tweaking.. adding a little something here or there.  maybe splattering it with ink.. or distressing  the edges, adding embossing    I love Richard because he makes me want to try different things.

So what to you see?  Rich chocolate colors for this coffee themed card.  Very masculine right?   So I thought I'd spin it a different direction.....  Very feminine.

My favorite go to sets for coffee are from Reverse Confetti - I love the new mugs in the Just Brew It Set  - they have lots of cute sentiments like this one - creative fuel!  I surrounded the cup with flowers from the Love Blooms stamp set.

I can't wait to see what you do with this!  I hope you'll join us at Tag You're It Challenge!   You have two weeks to play.

National Coffee Day! How About A Treat?

Thanks for stopping by! Did you know it's National Coffee Day? To celebrate I'm showing some coffee themed projects featuring The Twinery Twine and some packaging from SRM Stickers! Who doesn't love a treat? And gosh treats are just made to go with a great cup of coffee!  SRM Stickers has Embossed Vellum Bags, Kraft Bags, Plastic Tube Containers, Boxes, and so much more! I'm only showing a few of your many packaging options today!

For treats I like bags that are decorated and easy to slip things in and out of in a hurry. I want something thats easy to make so I can make LOTS! These gift bags would be a perfect little pick me up set on every desk in the office. I used Twinery Denim Twine looped around my hand and then fastened to the embossed vellum bag. I topped that with die cuts and a fun stamped coffee cup. This is ready to load up with some home made Almond Joy Cookies!

Here's another fun idea - a box that you can decorate ahead of time and then just pack with treats when you're ready. Your friends don't even have to unwrap it to open it. I simply wrapped Peapod twine around a 3" x 3" box three times and finished with a tag and a bow. I think the green color is perfect for guys or gals. Next I adhered a stamped die cut coffee cup. That's it. Easy right? I was thinking I might just put this on the kitchen table first thing in the morning - a note of encouragement to my DH or son so they know I'm thinking about them! Here's a link to the boxes in the store.

For this yummy treat bag I used an embossed Kraft bag from SRM! To show the embossing detail I ran a pigment ink pad lightly over the raised areas to bring out the detail. A tag in matching Caribbean with a bitty clothespin that you just clip on the bag is all you need.
Here's another one in Red featuring The Twinery Maraschino Twine. Whatever you choice SRM and The Twinery make goodie packaging extra easy! I can't wait to use them for holiday treats too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hugs!
