Waltzingmouse New Release - Special Lady

Have you been eagerly anticipating the next Waltzingmouse release?  Well you're wait is over!  It's here and I'm so excited to share it with you.  There are three new stamp sets - and four new dies!  Today the design team is showing the Special Lady stamp set!

The very first time I stamped this vintage image I was stunned by it's fabulous detail.   It's so easy to add lots of color to this one - no markers or pencils required!  She is just gorgeous in every color I've inked her in.  The hard part was settling on what color for my post today.  I settled on a royal purple - it seemed appropriate for the image.
I wanted to mix it up a little so I used some modern elements like the paper prints (ledger) and twine, but added some classic trims like the crochet lace, doily and paper flower.

Next I made a CAS version with the same image.  Isn't she stunning on a clean background?

Ready to see more designs with these beautiful stamps? Here's a list of designers with projects to show you today!

I hope you come back tomorrow for something completely different!  Yes!  WORLDS away from this victorian Special Lady!

12 Kits of Occasions - Bye Bye Birdie!

It's the last day of the month!  For me that means time for the 12 Kits of Occasions!!   The 12 kits is a group of 12 friends (well... right now there are 11) and we each take turns putting together a "kit" of supplies for the group.  Our hostess this month is Sharron Gregory from On Papillon Wings, and the theme this month is "Bye Bye Birdie".  I couldn't think of a better person for this month's theme,  because when I think of Sharron I always imagine her in her garden of day lillies, enjoying the outdoors and watching the birds.  She is a nature lover - and birds always seem to find their way into her designs and kits.  I even remember seeing photos of a little feathered family taking up residence in front of her house! I could almost hear the smile in her voice when I read about them!    Sharron gave us a very generous supply of beautiful pattern paper, stamped images, and oh so many beautiful die cuts of all different types of birds.. .seagulls, cranes, sand pipers, finches!   You can see a complete list of all the ingredients on the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog!   I made 6 cards so I will get right to it...
I added this sentiment from Serendipity Stamps to stamp on the patterned paper.

Now if you want to see how the rest of the team used these same ingredients you can click on their name to jump to their blog, or you can hop on over to the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog and see a preview from each designer.   We have a new team mate joining us this month. I hope you will give a welcome to  Michele Ferguson  from  I Card Everyone Blog.

We also have a special guest joining us this month - she was the winner from the comments left on the blog last month! Taunya Butler from Daisies Girl Blog.

I hope you're having a great weekend!

Tag You're It - Meadow Greens

Hi!  How is everyone doing?   I'm doing good!  Trying to get in a new routine - trying to get my house work and shopping out of the way in the morning, take a break for a few hours, and then get dinner going in the afternoon.    I never realized how much I hate grocery shopping before.  I'm going to blame that on winter.   It's so cold here!  Scrape the windows, get the car started to get a little heat, run into the store, face the cold loading up the trunk, and then unpacking!    I guess I don't have to worry about the ice cream melting.  Now I worry about the lettuce freezing!  LOL!!

A new challenge begins today at Tag You're It!  The sample this time is from my good friend Marybeth Lopez!    Marybeth always amazes me with her clean designs that have just the right amount of bling and detail that they don't look simple at all.  I tried to CASE Marybeth today and actually if you look close, I have less layers than she does!  Go figure!    I started out by stamping my sentiment right on the card base and then layered on some stamped die cuts with adhesive foam tape.
A wrap of twine and a sprinkle of sequins and BAM!   I'm done!  I'm really happy with this one.   See - you can teach an old dog a new trick!
Now it's you're turn!  It's Tag You're It so you can turn this into a tag, or CASE Marybeth and make a card!  Whatever you decide, just have fun!   I hope I see you there!!

Fusion - Bow tie

Hi Friends!  I hope you're having a great day!  I've been really busy creating lots of beautiful projects that you'll be seeing in the coming days.  I remember when I first started blogging - I was fascinated with a few of the blogs that had something new absolutely every single day of the week.   I thought that would be something I would like to try someday - and as a sort of "personal goal" last year I challenged myself to make a card every day.   I quickly found that I just couldn't do it.  Some days I'm feeling creative and I will make 4-5 cards in one single day... but other days.. not so much.   Creativity is more of a mood for me, and I never know what a card will look like until I decide it's "finished".

The challenge that begins today at Fusion is called "Bow Tie".  You can make something inspired by the photo - bow ties, different prints, colors etc... or you can choose to use the sketch.  If you're clever maybe you can mix them both together.   I'm usually inspired by the photo but today I went with the sketch.  I turned the stars into different shapes - squares, and semi circles.   I started with a vision of 6 squares and it morphed into this.   I had lots of fun adding little embellishments like the buttons, twine, and  die cuts.   This one reminds me of summer - and everything I miss about  being out side this time of year.

I adhered the frames with adhesive foam tape to add a little depth and slipped some buttons inside the frames.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!  Want to see what the rest of the team did? Just click on their names to jump to their blogs!

Have a beautiful day -stay warm, and make your own sunshine!

Top Dog Dies Spring Release Blog Hop!

Thanks for stopping by!  You picked a great day for a visit!  We're celebrating the latest Top Dog Dies Release with a Blog Hop!  Lucky me!  I'm the first stop on the hop.  If  you need to get all the details including how you can enter to win some of these fabulous new dies you can get them at the Top Dog Dies Blog.  You have until March 6 to enter and the winner will be posted on March 7!

There are 10 new sets of dies being released this month so there is LOTS to see!    I  always associate Easter with lots of goodies - chocolate bunnies, jelly beans and peeps!  LOL!  I made three little treat boxes so I could show off as many of the new dies as possible.
Check out the new "Decorated Egg Set"!  It features three decorated dies, and one backer to easily slip behind to let more color show through!    The little bird is from a set of three birds called "Feathered Friends"- this one has a pretty stitch detail, separate wing, and easy to detach beek.    The doily is from the "Cherish Doilies Tag & Die Set".

Are ewe looking for some cute little lambs?  They've got you covered with the "Sheep Die Set" that features mom, and baby.  More great details include a pierced outline, separate heads, and a little curly tuft to add to the top of their heads.  Yes... little hearts are included!
The grassy landscape the sheep are standing on is from the "Grass Die Set".   The set includes a grass border and a few separate "tufts" of grass.  I think the grass border looks great in the positive or negative.  If you look close you can see I used the negative on the sheep treat box, and the positive on the next box with the bunny.

Ok - one more for you..  these bunnies are from the "Rabbits Die Set".  The set features three separate bunnies.     I added a little pom pom for the bunny tail, but there is a cut out one in the set.

The linked hearts are from the Heart Mini Album Finishers Set.  I used the positive cut of the grass border on this one.   Oh and that fancy die for the sentiment across the top is from the banners one die set.  I layered two of the labels in the set.

These little treat boxes were so fun to make and decorate - here's a little peek at what's on the inside.   Oh yes.. the little trim on the flap - that's the Dotted Border set!  I used little velcro dots to make the package easy to open and close.
Ready for the next stop so you can see more?   Kelly Griglione is sure to wow you!  Make sure you leave a comment on the Top Dog Dies Blog to enter to win!

Here's the entire list of designers with projects today.
